Singing at 3rd Saturday in Downtown Sacramento. I’m usually comfortable performing while sitting on a stool, since I close my eyes a lot, sitting down makes me able to keep my balance, soooo playing this show standing up for the 1st time in a long time, was kind of a wobbly one : )… but I still thought this was a pretty neat-o backdrop of California’s State Capitol. And it was a gorgeous Sacramento Autumn evening in October….
What I would love to do, where I would love to be, is living somewhere in the woods for a week or two, and get inspired outside of life’s everyday routine. Stare up at the trees for a little while, watch the leaves change colors…then write a tune…write some words that could come freely to an undistracted mind, hunch over and cry a little for the days that have been lost in distraction and chaos, and then be thankful for the days to come where I will be present… instead of two months passing me by, when i realize that I was going through the motions and Autumn passed me by. Stop and Breathe. Autumn is but a short season.
Take me to the woods, away from here, where i can live , where my steps are settled and the hustle fades, and where the sun is bright I will rest in shade, where i can hear my thoughts away from cars and screams and fears, and anxious tears. Where i will find peace and shelter among the trees and dwell in a cabin along a riverbank..in solitude. Away. Far Away to think and sing and rest and be.
